Reader's Advisory
If you have inquiries or need any assistance in using
library materials, you can consult our Reference staff. They can advise
you on the availability of library resources and suggest appropriate library
services.
Library Orientation
Library orientation is conducted at the
beginning of every intake of new students. Sessions are held according
to
academic programs. After the session students are supposed to be familiar
with the library’s collections, services, and policies. But if you
feel you need more guidance in searching for materials in our collections
and databases, please contact any staff at the Circulation Desk or Library’s
Main Office. We are here to assist you!
Inter-library Loan (ILL)
Inter-library loan facilitates access to items that
are not available at KPTMKL Library. This service is extended to lecturers
and full time students only. Patrons can request by filling in the ILL
form. The length of time in which an item can be obtained will depend on
its location and the mail service. Items on loan must be used in the Library
only and renewals are not possible.
Course Reserve
Course Reserves are copies of books, journal
articles, conference proceedings, and audio/visual materials that lecturers
place at the Library for students to borrow. These materials
are kept in the Reserve section. Please contact our reserve service
counter for more information.
Reserve
The Reserve collection has restrictive loan periods
i.e 2 hours of reference in the library, and an overnight loan after 8:00
p.m. Any item checked out on overnight loan has to be returned by 12:00
noon the next day. Overnight loans are restricted to books only.
A fine will be imposed for any overdue item. Please contact reserve service
desk for any enquiry on reserve loan.
Photocopy
A photocopier is located in the Library for patrons’
convenience. Photocopying is restricted to library materials only, at 10
cent a copy.
Multimedia
Please contact our Media Department for any service.
A Technician is assigned to help you.
Internet Access
Two units of personal computers devoted to internet
access. You may also to Computer Labs to browse the internet.
