Open Shelf books are generally for circulation and
are marked ‘OS’ on the spines. These books are located in the general reading
area.
Periodicals
There are about 78 titles of periodicals. The current
issues are displayed in the periodical section. The back issues are bound
and placed in the bound periodical section. Periodicals are non circulating
items and can only be used in the Library.
Newspaper Cuttings
We keep a collection of newspaper cuttings
on highly selective topics.The topics may range from politics, environment,
social issues, to contemporary interests.These cuttings are available
in the Reserve section. Call on at our reserve service counter if

Archive Databases from NSTP e-Media . You may also scan the “archives”
from newspapers
online.
Reserve
This collection is confined to high-demand materials
that are separated from the general library collection; and are assigned
restrictive loan periods to ensure greater availability to patrons. Most
of the materials kept here, are recommended readings by the lecturers.
Other materials include are annual reports, back issues of periodicals,
past examination papers and newspaper cuttings. Call on at our reserve
service counter to get access to the collection.
Lecturers’ Reserve
This collection is strictly reserved for the lecturers.
Students are not allowed access to these materials.
Reference [REF]
The Reference collection is located next to the periodical
section and comprises general and subject dictionaries, encyclopedias,
almanacs, yearbooks, atlases, handbooks, manuals and other books that are
available for quick referral and research questions. These materials, do
not circulate, and have the designation "REF" before their call numbers.
Multimedia
Videocassettes, audiocassettes, slides, transparencies,
CD-ROMs and sound recordings are among the formats available at the Media
Section. Media equipment is also available for in-room use and loan. |
